After flash stepping across town, Ryouji appeared in the courtyard of the Urahara Shop. He glanced at the store itself remembering how the first time he came to the real world, that this was their base of operations. He slid the door open slowly and stepped inside. He closed it quickly and followed the voices which led him into the main room where he noticed Kisuke and the others were sitting around the dinner table.
"Ah Ryouji...come join us for dinner!"
Ryouji rubbed the back of his head slightly and shook his head slowly. Unfortunately eating was something he wasn't really here for. He came to get some information on these original six characters and what they could possibly do to prevent them from being freed. He walked into the room and knelt down in front of the table.
"Thank you for the offer but I'm not here for that Kisuke. I've come to ask you to fill me in on the information that you've gathered on the original six"
That was when things got silent. Ryouji glanced around the table to see everyone looking at him as if he broke a rule. He rubbed the back of his head and sighed from the awkwardness that crept up on him and slapped him in the face.
"Sorry, but another Arrancar is planning on breaking the seal, so I need all the information I can get. i didn't mean to interrupt your dinner. I've also come to take back my Zanpakuto"
Urahara lowered his bowl onto the table and nodded slightly. Its been a long time obvously since Kisuke has even spoken or heard anything about them. Ryouji could tell just by the way he looked.
"Well Before they became the original six...they were the original seven. All seven of these hollows removed their masks and underwent shingamification. For weeks they fought until a leader was named...he apparently has been the only Arrancar to have previously been an Vasto Lorde"
Ryouji's eyes shot open upon hearing this. Vasto Lorde's are by far the strongest of all hollows. Its said that the powers of Vasto Lords rival that of two captain level shinigami. It was already begining to look grim.
"The others, are strong as well, and truth be told the special forces group that was sent into stop them. While out of the seven, only one managed to sucessfully infiltrate the Soul Society and Sereitei. He was caught soon after and sealed away under Sokyoku hill. That left six of the seven members. Anyway, the special squad sent in to defeat them were easily overpowered and most of the members in the squad were killed. Two Shinigami remained, and managed to trick the six into being sealed away since they would have been unsucessful at attempting to destroy them"
Already Ryouji was seeing how the Original six could become a serious threat. All the training in the world wouldn't prepare them if Urahara's story was indeed true.
"I see, what of the seventh member...was it Arturo Plateado correct? I remember reading of his exploits in the Central 46 library. He was a shapeshifter, able to take the form of others and tricking them. His seal was broken when they destroyed the Soukyoku. Apparently he wanted to be returned to his full strength, after being sealed away. He was stopped and eventually killed. Anyway, an artificial Arrancar who is stronger than she lets on needed, claimed she needed my blood in order to break the seal"
Urahara nodded, Ryouji was indeed well informed and only appeared to be lazy, but it was often a mistake for laziness wasn't really a trait he posessed.
"That's correct, even Yoruichi had to have a hand in helping them. Bring him down, he was quite strong in his own right, but against that many Captains, Lieutenants and Yoruichi, he was quickly over powered before he could find all of the shards of the Soukyoku. Even at half strength, they are powerful. Anyway I've yet to get to the best part. After sealing away the now Original six, the two Shinigami returned to the Soul Society, One chose to exile himself and he left with the knowledge on how to free them. Apparently, this Shiva knows what it is. While she claims your blood is part of the equation, they also need a 'key'. The only person who knows what the key actually is, lives in a Shrine outside of town"
Ryouji narrowed his eyes A shrine on the outside of town. He didn't know shrines would sill exist in this day and era. it was thats when it hit him. He was watching when Luna mentioned this key. The feeling Yuri got about the human girl. Maybe it was all begining to add up.
"Another Arrancar stated that Kyouteki should have found the key. In our last battle, Yuri and Ronin came back with the girl who is with Azumi now. Its starting to get interesting to say in the least. We still don't know what this key is however. From what you're telling me, the exiled Shinigami, lives in this Shrine. This Eriko girl must take us there. Whatever this key is, we can't let the Arrancar get it and free the Original six."
It bothered him that Shiva was so close to being able to free them and the only thing she lacked was this key. Not to mention how powerful they sounded. Honestly he wasn't liking the way this was begining to take shape.
"Catch"
Ryouji looked up and grabbed the Scabbard of Shinkuoremasu as it was tossed in his direction. He grabbed it by the hilt and pulled it free, seeing that the blade had rematerialized into its normal form.
"Thank you for keeping it for me as well as the information. If Yoruichi is here, tell her I said hello would you?"
He stood up slowly and slammed the Zanpakuto back down into its sheath. He gripped it tightly in his left hand. He honestly felt naked without it. It was odd having gone nearly two weeks without holding. Honestly he felt naked without it. With it, he would now be able to use Bankai should he require it. He bowed again before turning away from the table, leaving the shop owner and the others to finish their meal. The only thing left for him to do would be to fill the others in on the knowledge he had gained so the lot of them could formulate a strategy in order to stop Shiva from resurrecting them. After exiting the shop, he flash stepped one again, leaving the store in order to search for the others.
