Haruaki tied her flowing purple hair back with a red ribbon, the mirror above the restroom sink was dusty and cracked. She wasn't impressed with coming over the road to eat for the third time this week, there were much nicer places in the city, but today she was pressed for time, it was the end of rotation, the previous year's students had finished their human world orientation and new students would be transferring today to begin learning everything they needed to know about the world paralel our own.
Haru turned off the tap and looked back up at the mirror one last time to ensure that she was presentable, then turned on her heal and pushed open the door. The others were waiting at the counter, paying off the tab and talking to the owner of the diner. It wasn't a big diner, it was american in design and decor but it had a lot of custom, especially from the Shinigami passing through. There hadn't been a Chef at the Seijotokyorin Hotel for months now, so the Shinigami had been coming here for their food, cheap and cheerful, unlike the expensive resteraunts in town that Haru was used to, the diner still had it's perks.
"Bye Mr. Shin!" Haru called joyfully to the young man behind the counter, who blushed, as she pulled the glass door open and skipped onto the sidewalk and into the breeze, it had been another beautiful day, not even a single cloud in the sky to bring the temperature down, but the winds from the north kept the breezes cool.
Haru stopped at the sidewalk, looking back at the group, the largest of them walking calmly backwards toward her talking to the others, "Come on Yama!" she chirped, causing the largest to turn and look over his shoulder, distracting him long enough to lose his sense of direction and trip backwards over a newspaper dispenser.
Yama Hansou was tall, but he was by no means skinny, he had a muscular physique that he would show off at every oportunity, which meant today his Gigai was wearing a pair of blue surf pattern shorts, some white running shoes and a matching surfing t-shirt hanging from the back of his shorts. The remaining two members of the squad were rather normal in comparison, though they could pass easily among crowds and fit in with ease, the outgoing personality Yama carried with him made him the center of attention.
Picking himself up off the sidewalk and dusting himself off, Yama glared at Haru, making her giggle. "Haru, that wasn't fair. You're acting like a teenager, every year new students arrive and you go off playing with them as if you'd only just graduated." He started toward Haru, the others shaking their heads, not quite in disapproval, they too enjoyed the freshers arriving, taking in their first sights of the world they were destined to protect.
Haru posed, leaning to one side with a hand on her hip, "You know I'm just trying to have a good time." she said, frowning slightly. "Every year we get to have fun, and you're the party pooper, fine with a crowd of Humans, but always uppity with the students, they don't know you had to sit the exam three times to get in, and barely graduated at that, but look at where you've come to. You may not like us, but we like you." she explained, smiling again and giving a wink.
She stepped into the road, hardly looking for traffic, this time of the afternoon was quiet on the roads, the occasional car passed through, but the majority were working, the nearby University would begin their induction and orientation within a month, but it was always quiet leading up to the storm.
The group crossed seconds behind, discussing again that they hoped one of the students could cook and what they would eat if they could. The Seireitei Hotel stood before them, in it's grand splendour, the shield that kept the humans away shimmered slightly in the sunlight, before becoming invisible once again, the Kido Corps had designed the shield to be perpetual, to give the hotel the illusion of being rundown and boarded up, but the reality of it, was that the Seijotokyorin Hotel was the grandest in the region, a real slice of home, it was a replica of the Central 46 Compound in the inner Court of Pure Souls, hense it's name, it had been built some time ago when a permanent station in the human world was deemed a necessity, and the students used the dorms and conference rooms for their new Human Realm Orientation classes, the classes were a year long and each of the rooms were large enough for families to live in.
The Courtyard in the centre had been outfitted with a Zanjutsu Training Hall, Taijutsu Dojo and a Kido Training Field, which was currently where the students of last year were gathered with Aoga Kanisawa, the Human Realm head tutor, performing a headcount.
Haru stepped into the reception, greeted by bags and sacks of clothing and souvenirs of all the students due to leave, several assistants were hovering by the gate, as no doubt they were doing in Seireitei preparing to send students through.
She passed through the reception and into the courtyard, approaching Aoga as he finished his count. "Fourty Six, everybody's here and ready to go, Miss Muhousha."
"Thank you, Aoga." Haru replies, taking the clipboard from him and heading back for the reception and grand entrance hall, where the gate was beginning to form, the assistants opened the paper doors, forming the one-way portal to Seireitei as the students poured in from the courtyard and began to gather their belongings and step through the gates, each bowing to Haru as they passed.
Aoga approached as the last entered. "Another year over. I have little time to prepare before the next class arrive. I'm going to retire soon, I tell you." Haru giggled, "You say this every year, Aoga, it'll never happen, who could possibly replace you?." Aoga paused dramatically, as if to ponder the thought deeply, before laughing deeply, "Yes, child, who could indeed? I'm going to bed, send for me when the freshmen arrive." And with that he was gone, a simple Shunpo up the grand staircase that flanked the reception desk and off toward his own suite on the upper floors. The 6th floor reserved for staff, with the 5th floor reserved for visiting Shinigami and officials, the 4 other floors above ground were empty now, but soon to be filled, housing fresh faces.
Haru dropped the clipboard on the desk and sat beside it, leaning back and kicking her feet, her shoes bouncing lightly off the front of the wooden counter, lost in her own world before the appearance of the portal caught her attention, the paper doors and awning not scheduled to appear, nor students scheduled to arrive until the following morning.

While things were slowly going back to normal in Soul Society, Emi decided to check up the new place that was made in the human world. Not only that, she wanted to offer her assistance somehow. Her mind was on home, however. Though the others knew what she was doing, she couldn't help but to feel uneasy. She was always with Ami and everyone else and not really around anyone else. It was perhaps she was nervous and when she adjusts to the situation, she'll be more at ease.
As she steps out of the Senkaimon, she noticed someone up ahead, tilting her head to the side. Even though it was a place where other Shinigami would be, she just wasn't expecting someone to greet her or anyone else coming for that matter. It's no big deal. It's all about learning! The more she could learn the better! She steps over to Haru, Bowing a little to show some form of respect. Now to introduce herself.
"I'm sorry for dropping in unannounced, but when I found out about this, I couldn't wait! I came to the world of the Living a lot when I was little. not only that, I thought I would offer my services. I'm not really a Shinigami, but I am well versed in some Kido. Mostly healing. That being said, would it be much trouble to ask if I could come on board as a doctor?"
Maybe it was too much at once. Still, what harm could it do to ask? She was going to make sure that all she learned and will learn will be put to good use.
"Oh.. I'm sorry. I got so ahead of myself that I forgot to introduce myself. I am Megumi Nakayama, but everyone just calls me Emi. It's nice to meet you!"

Haru jumped down off the counter, looking down at the new arrival, she was rather taken aback, she hadn't requested additional support, nor had she been expecting anybody to arrive from the academy, let alone a young Shinigami.
As was proper for addressing Shinigami, she stripped of her Gigai, the swirl of autumn leaves whisping away to reveal her Shinigami self, a red ribbon adorning her soul slayers apparel, and a wooden bokken, rather than a sword sat at her hip, though the rule had been disgarded at the hotel on the off chance that they were under surveilance, the permanent wearing of Gigai had been adopted here, she still felt it important to follow custom.
As the youngster stepped forward Haru returned the bow, though before she could welcome or enquire her purpose, she began to speak.
"I'm sorry for dropping in unannounced, but when I found out about this, I couldn't wait! I came to the world of the Living a lot when I was little. not only that, I thought I would offer my services. I'm not really a Shinigami, but I am well versed in some Kido. Mostly healing. That being said, would it be much trouble to ask if I could come on board as a doctor?" "Oh.. I'm sorry. I got so ahead of myself that I forgot to introduce myself. I am Megumi Nakayama, but everyone just calls me Emi. It's nice to meet you!"
Stunned for a moment by the rapid speach, Haru composed herself. "My name is Haruaki Muhousha, Seventh Seated Officer of Division 6, head of the Shinigami Resources team here at Seijotokyorin Hotel. Welcome to Karakura, Emi." Haru looked the youngster over, smiling. "We weren't expecting an increase in number, but it's always nice to have a new face, you'd be most welcome to come onboard as a doctor, we haven't had a medic, I can perform some healing Kido, but I'm not proficient in it. I'll call Renji and have it cleared, you'll get a temporary licence to join Division 6 and we'll see how you do from there. Have you ever been to the Human world before?"
Haru leaned back on the counter, turning her head slightly as Yama stepped in from the courtyard, she hadn't seen him pass, but he'd probably gone out while she was addressing Aoga. He seemed disgruntled, so she didn't say anything, instead watching his toned muscular body turn and cross through to the corridor, heading away through the double doors to the conference rooms come classrooms, no doubt in a bad mood because it was his year to clean up the hotel, Haru had done it the year before and knew how he felt. Cleaning and tidying the entire hotel alone took time away from relaxing between semesters.

After getting an introduction from Haru, Emi had an excited look on her face. now was her chance to really be useful to others than her family! Hopefully, everything should go through clearly. If she had done more preparation, all this could have been avoided.
"I'm sorry to put you through extra work. I should have thought about that before coming unannounced. Not much can be done now, huh?"
After hearing the question about ever being in the human world, she could remember it vividly. Though it wasn't in town much, she does remember the vacation they had at the beach. It may have ended badly, but she still had fun.
"Yes, I have been here. Sometimes my mother, Yuri Nakayama, comes on missions here and I came along with her when I was young. Usually, our whole family comes to the living world for time away from Soul Society though Mama usually requests to take night shifts to watch over the town as a result. She's always been so serious. She gets that from Uncle 'Ouji."
Emi was just looking around the room, seeing all kinds of interesting things. She couldn't wait for things to get going here. Of course, she would have to talk to the others and let them know how things are. They seemed interested that she was doing something she has been wanting to do for a long time.
"I would also like to study human doctors as well. It may seem silly, but I figure I can learn a lot more from them as well. You never know when something they might know could come in handy! I want to combine our knowledge and theirs. Not only that, I want.. Even if it is a childish dream.. I want both worlds to be safe. I can do that by healing one person at a time! Anyway.. How can I help out? I don't want to be just a medic. If you want me to be a messenger.. someone to clean up, just let me know!"

Haru could barely contain her grin, "Aren't you an eager beaver? I'll put the call through now, and we'll go from there, it's Lugger's turn to clean up this year, he's the big one with muscles." She giggled. "I'll take you out to see the sights later, but if your whole family comes, understand you may be working away from them while they're here, you may not be used to that, but you've taken a big step coming here alone as it is I would imagine."
Haru reaches into her Ki top and withdraws a Cellular Phone, keying the D-pad several times she pauses it at Renji and pushes the D-pad in, the phone connecting almost instantly to Seireitei on the other end. "Lieutenant Abarai, this is 7th Seat, Haruaki Muhousha, Shinigami Resources Liaison. Sir, we have a transfer request to Division 6 and licence for medical practice in the field for Megumi Nakayama. No, no Zanpakuto. Medical Corps training, Division 3? Yes. Oh Renji, don't start now. Can you get it or not? What? Ugh. When? Fine, 'Aka Pine'. It's a date. But that's All. Goodbye, Lieutenant."
Hanging up the cellphone and looking rather smug Haru tilts her head at Emi. "Welcome to Division 6."

After hearing that she was on board, Emi just.. Was just so happy. True, she hasn't been away from her family for long periods of time, but still, she was doing something she has dreamed about since she was set on this path by Ryouji. She was going to do her best to not let anyone down.
"Well, a lot of people in Seireitei were talking about this place. I wanted to help out someway. I may not be a Shinigami, but I can help people all the same by keeping them alive."
She was looking forward to seeing the rest of the place. She wanted to get to know everyone that was here and just wanted to get as many things memorized as soon as possible.
"As for being away from my family, I can handle it. Before I came here, I talked to them about it. They actually encouraged me to come. They all figure this would help me in many ways. I just look forward to being useful to anyone! Oh.. What are the rules around here? i would hate to do anything wrong."

Putting the cellphone back in her Ki top, Haru began to think, the rules hadn't really been officially put into place, with the exception of the security rules themselves, but things had became every day occurances, perhaps just to pass the time.
"Well, a Gigai must be worn at all times, with the exception of within the hotel grounds and when in combat, so that we fit in with the humans.. No humans may enter the hotel without expressed permissions from Central 46.. Oh, and don't interfere with or interrupt the classes, unless you intend to take them, Aoga may have a sense of humour, but he takes teaching seriously. Aside from those, there really aren't many rules, the humans have laws we have to abide by, but aside from the aforementioned, knock yourself out."
Yama entered again through the door he left, looking exhausted, his Gigai must have been left behind, as he was in Shinigami form, carrying a mop bucket and the staff from a broken mop, he muttered to himself and pushed the courtyard door open, the sounds of swords clashing can be heard before Yama opens his mouth and shouts "You two, it may be my turn to clean, but if I find you've been in my room again I'll send you back to Soul Society myself." Yama slams the door behind him and steps out into the courtyard, the construction of the building muffling the sounds once more, but he is clearly visible, arguing with Aikichi and Kiba.

After listening to the rules, Emi made sure to make a mental note on it. At least with the Gigai part, there wasn't much to worry about. For right now, she would stay inside the building until it was time to leave and check the outside for any changes.
"Alright, I'll keep that in mind."
After seeing Yama come and leave, she tilted her head to the side. She wondered what was wrong. He seemed to be arguing with other people. What has she gotten herself into? No, she mustn't think like that. She will get used to the things that go on here and won't be the newbie for long!
"Is he okay? He seems angry about something? Sounds like he's fighting with two other people or something."
Maybe she shouldn't try to pry. It's not any of her business what goes on with other people. It's just that she doesn't like to see other people fight in the metaphorical sense or the literal kind.
"Maybe i shouldn't ask.. Just thought I could somehow help..you know?"

Haru steps around the side of the stairwell, observing through the window as Yama confronts Aikichi and Kiba about yet again going in the maintainance room, it wasn't Yama's per sé, but he did stay and keep all of his belongings in there, he wasn't much of a repairman, but when things went wrong, he was usually able to fix them.
"He'll be alright, he's just looking to let off some steam, he transferred to us from Division 13, he likes to spar and work out to relax, but sometimes he's just over the top." Haru leans forward to look closer through the glass, she can see Aikichi and Kiba have been practicing their Zanjutsu in surpressed state, and now that Yama had finished what he'd call chores, she was surprised that he hadn't jumped in right away, which clued her in on what he was after. "So Emi, did you graduate the Academy, or are you a Substitute? I'm curious. It isn't often we meet someone on our side without a Zanpakuto."

When asked if she graduated the Academy, she wasn't really sure what to say. Usually those who graduate end up getting their Zanpakutou. Though, she never recalled going. She was taught at home by Azumi and Hina. Wonder what Haru would say to the fact that she learned what she did from Nobles.
"Well.. I really didn't go to the Academy. When I was little, I wanted to be a Shinigami. At the time, I thought that was the only way to keep people safe. I'm not sure if you remember or not, but Soul Soceity was invaded by Shiva and other Arrancar. Mama fought hard and nearly lost her life, but was able to fend her and the others off with help. Seeing how close to death she was, it changed my mind."
She didn't want anyone to be in that kind of pain. It was at that point she took Ryouji's words to heart and decided to become a healer. She can keep people safe by keeping them alive and hopefully out of battle.
"You heard of the Kusanagi Clan right? Auntie Hina and Azumi were the ones who taught me a lot of what I know. I learned from Auntie 'Zumi how to heal and form barriers and I learned from Auntie Hina how to break down Kido and some Hadou. I also can do some more things, but I rather keep that a secret. I just don't like to fight, but that doesn't mean I can't defend myself if I have to."

Haru turned away from the window, . o O ( A Noble? ) "So you're a pacifist? There aren't as many now, but whole noble families were opposed to the war, until it was brought to our soil."
Haru barely remembered her father, Captain of Division 9, responsable for the security of Seireitei and Rukongai, he'd saved her once in the halls of Central 46, before he was exiled, he'd been working in conjunction with Division 12 to combine the powers of the Shinigami and the Hollow to increase our defenses, but a live experiment had gone wrong and the Hollow had taken control. She'd been watching as a part of her studies, just an academy student at the time, preparing to graduate and had been preselected for Division 12, but it had all gone wrong, her seated position came under question and with fears of her following her fathers footsteps, she was very nearly exiled herself. Working had at the Academy for her final year, she studied Advanced Kido and earned herself a frontline position with Division 6, it was her saving grace and for that she owed the Kuchiki Clan, close family friends.
Her attention was peaked again, she could sense Yama's reiatsu rising, though the building was shielded, Yama was pulsing throughout.
"He's at it again." she smiled, Yama was restless, he'd been hoping to spar with the newcomer, every year he tested their abilities, he was part time Zanjutsu tutor, which left the admin work to Haru, but she didn't mind, it gave her time to sneak out of her office and run around the city.
Yama released his Zanpakuto in the courtyard, the huge flanged mace resting over his shoulder, the flail spinning in his left hand, the mace out to have been two handed, but his release had an extendable spiked ball and chain flail attatched to the handle. Aikichi and Kiba had taken positions facing him but had yet to release their swords.
Haru glances down at Emi, her body facing the window once more, ready to observe the sparring.

After sensing the sparring session, Emi takes a peak out the window to see what was going on. They seem to be giving it their all. If that's the case, they're going to have to be healed! It would be a perfect time to more or less show off her skills. Of course, she doesn't want them to get hurt on purpose or anything.
"They're really going at it. Maybe I should be out there if they're going to spar. That way, I can show you guys just what I can do!"
She would have to be careful though. In the heat of battle, things get carried too far. Well, in case it does, she would be able to keep herself safe and the others as well. As she stepped into the courtyard, she could only watch as they gave it everything they had. Though it was sort of amazing to see their abilities, she hated that they were fighting perse. She understood that it was needed to get strong, but she just wishes there was some other way.
"Keep at it, you guys! Whenever you need a break, I'll be glad to tend to any injuries!"

Haru watched Emi leave, before she stepped behind the counter, bringing up a monitoring system on the registration computer screen, instructing it to alert at any signal from the Senkaimon Gate.
Yama had just been knocked back by Kiba when Emi stepped into the courtyard, her words inspiring the group to finally go at it without holding back, they'd been training unreleased for the most part, but Yama was intending to show off, his mountainous strength released with his zanpakuto, the large two-handed flanged mace resting its tip to the ground as he used it as an aid to stand.
Haru leaves the reception and joins Emi in the courtyard, skipping onto a bench and spinning with her arms outstretched before dropping into a seated position on the edge of the table, as if the elevated perch would give her a better vantage point.
Kiba pointed his sword into the air, raising his arm as he spoke "Raise from the depths of hell, Ryohokohoro!" the sword flamed instantly, spiralling with fire, a flaming dragon rising and darkening the sky, the shield around the hotel would contain the reiatsu, but it was moments like these that Haru wondered if the outside world could see or feel the effects.
Bringing his sword down, Kiba slashed the dragon toward Yama, the grass of the kido fields cindered and the ground scorched outward in a wave. Yama, anticipating the opening move jumped upward, his strength high, but his speed being low kept him grounded and he narrowly avoided being singed, bringing the Mace above his head and down in a hammer blow, he struck the vortex of flame just below the base of the dragons head sending sparks outward as if a firework had exploded before him, the ground darkened where the energy dissipated, the grass turned to embers and glowed as his feet touched the ground.
Sparing no time at all, Yama moved forward, Kiba raising his sword too slowly as Yama approached, the full force of the mace slamming into the tsuba, causing him to lose grip, his Zanpakuto spinning out of his grasp and clattering to the on the flagstones near Emi.
Aikichi unsheathes her sword and grips both ends, twisting it upward into a staff "Reverse the flow, Toubou." she says, seemingly to herself as she twirls the staff in hand.
As Kiba is hit with the flail on a chain attatched to the bottom of the mace and is flung backward into the air, Yama curls over forwards breathing heavily, dropping a sealed zanpakuto, now in regular katana form to the ground, seemingly unable to move very far, he looks up into the beautiful face of Aikichi, who is holding her staff against him, butt-end to his chest.
Tipping the mountain that was Yama a moment before onto his back with simple ease, Aikichi presses the staff firmer against his chest. "Settle down."

After seeing Yama on the ground, Emi couldn't stand to watch anymore. She had to stop the match. He was already down. There was no reason to continue anymore. The young girl then goes to Aikichi, hoping to talk her into letting Yama get up.
"You've won this sparring session. Can't you just stop there and let him go?"
It took some talking, but Aikichi eventually moved her weapon just enough for Yama to get up when he wants. Sighing in relief, she thanks the other woman. Though, she couldn't relax just yet. When she went to talk to Yama, she noticed he was up and going for his Zanpakutou. Fearing that he wanted to continue the sparring, Emi had to think quickly.
"Bakudo 63: Sajo Sabaku!"
Now, with his arms bounded, he couldn't get his Zanpakutou. Though the use of a mid-level Kidou left her a bit winded, it was worth it if it stopped any unnecessary fighting. She would have to apologize after she healed everyone which she started doing right away. Since the injuries weren't all too bad, it didn't take too long at all. After healing Yama, she broke down the Kido that was binding him, handing him his Zanpakutou after picking it up.
"I'm sorry that I had to do that. I just didn't want there to be anymore fighting since the whole session came to a conclusion. You are feeling better now, aren't you? You and everyone put up a great fight!"

Yama struggled against the Kido, he was feeling humiliated by the child healing him, but she had brought Kiba round and bandaged him up with high proficiency, if he had the time to regain his energy and pick up his Zanpakutou before the binding technique, he would have been able to break it down, but Aikichi had tapped him just as the youngster bound him, he hadn't been able to resist, hadn't even had time to get up to speed.
Aikichi was still uneasy about Yama, he still seemed frustrated to her, as if he'd pent up some anger, Haru hadn't been giving him an easy time lately with it being his year to clean the hotel, Haru had intentionally told the students that there was a cleaning service available, but he had it coming, he'd tried to spy on her changing last year and been caught, she hadn't let him live it down, since then Aikichi found that Yama had been nothing but simmering beneath the surface, he'd been better for a couple of weeks after a small outbreak of hollows, but then he resumed being mopey.
Yama stood slowly, sheathing his sealed sword, he was still a large figure, looming over Emi. "Thank you." he says quietly and turns away, heading slowly away from the group to the rear entrance to the Taijutsu Dojo on the East of the compound.
Aikichi and Haru were stood talking animatedly to one side, giggling occasionally, but talking quietly enough to not be overheard, no doubt talking about what Yama and Kiba would call 'girly stuff'.
Kiba approached Emi. His accent was thick, as if he were drunk, though he had been healed, he had taken the full force of the flail at the end of its arc and felt as though he was still reeling. "Thank you, Emi. That's the hardest he's ever hit me, I was expecting to wake up in the medical center at Division 4 headquarters." Kiba took a more relaxed pose, though nearly fell over as he did so, catching himself and straightening up a little more than he had intended. "Where did you learn to heal so well? I may be still a little dazed but I'm in one piece."

When she was approached by Kiba and was thanked by him and also Yama, Emi just smiled. She was glad that she was able to help. Though, her healing wasn't all that great. Though she can heal the physical injuries, she still has a hard time healing internal injuries. At least for now, Kiba is up and running. That's all that mattered.
"I can still learn how to heal more efficiently, though. I still have a hard time healing internal injuries. External is real simple. As for learning.. I was more or less taught by my Aunts. Well, mostly Auntie 'Zumi. I learned Bakudo and some Hadou from Auntie Hina. I never really went to the Academy to learn how to be a Shinigami. I'm not much of a fighter, really."
Seeing him double over like that kind of worried her. She had to get better at healing if she was going to be useful. What if something really bad happened and she couldn't heal internal injuries like she could external ones? Maybe she was worrying too much. Maybe if she studied during her free time, she can get better at it. At least she got some minor practice by healing Kiba and the others.
"I figured coming here would help me learn what I needed to. Uncle 'Ouji wasn't too happy, but he let me come. He's just really overprotective is all. i do miss him and everyone else though but.. don't worry about me! I want to know if you're feeling better! I can try and see if I can do anything else for you! just let me know!"
