Mystery

[Youhei]

Youhei leaned against the wall of a building, having been told by Ronin to expect a contact to meet him there. He did not get a lot of information, guessing he wasn't supposed to know about the incidents that were being spoken about. All he knew was that Shinigami had been disappearing all over the town. He could see why the other Shinigami would not like to have this publicized as they could not even explain it.

He said to wait here... I wonder who they are sending... it's obviously not him or Yuri... so who could it be?

Youhei was not in his armor that old man hat and clogs made. He had made some modifications over the year, much to the old man's objections. He began tapping his foot, the representative obviously behind schedule.

[Ayumi and Ayane]

After the twins arrived through the Senkaimon, they noticed a stranger waiting for something or someone. If their father wasn't busy telling them to be careful or to do this or that, they wouldn't have been late in the first place. Regardless, the two girls went up to Youhei. Ayane then started to talk to him.

"Sorry that we're late. Papa always has a tendency to be a bit overprotective of us. You know: "don't do this or that. Be careful" and all that stuff. So, what's going on? We were only told that Shinigami have been disappearing. What's this mission about?"

[Youhei]

Youhei shifted his eyes to the girls, shrugging his shoulders. He never met them before but he could see features of Ronin and Yuri in them. He himself did not know the mission, but he did remember what Ronin told him.

"I'm not sure what the mission is, I'm not a Shinigami. You two were the ones with the briefing. All I was told by your father was to support you. He did tell me that you should call your mother on some kind of Shinigami phone...."

Youhei stepped into the light, stretching a bit. He seemed around their age, but with Shinigami, it was hard to tell just how old they were. He looked at his watch, ready incase something were to happen.

[Ayumi and Ayane]

The girls had to think for a moment. Their father was so busy telling them to be careful, he must have forgotten to tell them about it. Maybe he made mention of it the night before. Soon, Ayumi remembered what was said.

"Oh yeah! Papa said we were to just do recon. If we were to encounter the person behind it, we're to retreat and relay the news to Soul society."

[Youhei]

Youhei nodded at the girl talking to him, getting off the wall. He pushed a button on his watch, the armor old man hat and clogs made for him appearing on him. Youhei had made modifications to the armor to suit him as he grew. He locked onto the girls with his HUD and identified their energies as friendly. He then looked to them both, remembering that they were not introduced.

"Right... introductions. I'm Youhei, pleased to meet you ladies... and you are?"

He knew they were Ronin's daughters, but their names never came up. He is sure that his name was probably not mentioned despite the fact he was probably talked about. Right now the task at hand was to figure out what was happening, Shinigami don't just vanish into thin air.

[Ayumi and Ayane]

The twins were wonderin why a human would be involved in Shinigami affairs. They got that Youhei knew their father and mother, but still.. It's kind of dangerous for him to be out here. then again, it was dangerous for them as well. Ayumi then moved her hand to her sister, ready to introduce themselves.

"This is Ayane and I'm Ayumi. It's nice to meet you."

They wanted to talk more to get to know the human, but something caught Ayane's attention, causing her to grasp her Zanpakutou.

"We're not alone anymore."

[Youhei]

Youhei looked around as he pulled the DMR off his back, holding the clip and charging it with his energy. As he did, his eyes shifted around to search for anything. As his head moved around, the HUD locked onto several energy signatures that were unknown. He scratched his head, which must have looked awkward as he had a helmet on.

"Uhh the HUD says they are Shinigami yet not Shinigami... That doesn't make any sense... How can they be both Shinigami and not?"

He continued searching the area, seeing glimpses of human shaped shadows working their way closer.

[Ayumi and Ayane]

Shinigami but not Shinigami? He wasn't making any sense. Though, when they thought about it, the only way that could be true is if they had Hollow masks. Then again.. When a Shinigami dons a mask, their Reiatsu becomes more Hollow like. If that's what he was sensing, then he would have said Shinigami with Hollow powers. Could it be the people they were told to look out for?

"As nice as it would be to fight these guys, we were told to just do recon. We're not here to cause a scene. We need to get out of here before there is a unneeded battle."

[Youhei]

Youhei shifted his eyes to the twins, walking backwards away from the oncoming pursuers. He kept track of the motions of the group, putting his hand on Ayame's shoulder to get her attention.

"So, you have a place we can fall back to? Otherwise we will be in for a fight... Fighting goes against the parameters of the mission...I estimate that we have roughly two minutes before they arrive here. They are quite fast, whatever they are..."

Youhei wanted to engage the enemy, but he had a second mission besides helping them to find out what happened to the Shinigami. His second mission was to keep the girls safe. Youhei had been assisting Ronin and Yuri since he was a young boy, when he got the assist armor from old man hat and clogs. He was used to the dangers, but this was the first mission for the twins. Ronin insisted nothing split even a single hair on their heads, also something experiencing the wrath of Yuri. Youhei had honestly stopped paying attention at that point.

[Ayumi and Ayane]

Ayumi was thinking of a place they could go to in order to avoid confrontation with the enemy. After some thought, it hit her. Her mother has a place in the living world so they could end up going there to hide out there.

"Mama has an apartment room in town. We've been there a few times. I can show you the way there."

Of course, they couldn't flash step there. Using any kind of Reiatsu would lead the enemy right to them. Ayumi was looking around for some kind of exit, her hand being tugged on by her sister who found a pathway in the alley. They would follow that way and go into the street eventually so they could help to the home away from home.

"Come on, let's go!"

[Youhei]

Youhei followed the girls, walking backwards to cover their rear flank. He kept close to them, not wanting anything to hurt the girls. Mostly because Yuri can yell really loud when she had to. Youhei decided to use the HUD to scan all the data he could while the enemy advanced on their location. As he gathered the data, he was suddenly pulled into a building, apparently having arrived at their destination. Once they were inside, Youhei took off his helmet, connecting it to a computer Yuri had in the apartment.

"I was gathering data on our way here, mostly energy readings and the like, does any of this look familiar to either of you?"

He used the computer to display all the data his HUD took, hoping for some clue as to what was chasing them.

[Ayumi and Ayane]

The girls just tilted their heads to the side as they watched Youhei do whatever he was doing. They never saw anything like what he was using before. Both of them hovered over him, just looking. As he pulled up the information, they studied it a little. Nothing seems to stand out as far as they noticed.

"Uh.. I don't think so. It all looks like gibberish to me."

Ayumi went over to one of the windows, taking a look around. As far as she could tell, no one was coming close or was nearby. At least they have some time to think of what to do.

"So, what do we do now?"

[Youhei]

Youhei scratched the back of his head, trying to figure out the data. He looked to the twins, compressing the files. He had one idea, but he was not sure if it would work.

"I'm not fully versed of technology in your realm, but do you have anything like this computer on your end? If so can you contact your mother and tell her to get near one and send me something i can contact her via it?"

He needed to get the information to Yuri, perhaps she knew something about the readings. He had to figure out what was hunting down the Shinigami. Maybe someone on the other side has seen something like in the results he gathered.

[Ayumi and Ayane]

They weren't sure to be honest. They really didn't stray too far from home. Though they might not know anything about what he's talking about, maybe another squad could help them. They were familiar with some squads and what they do. After all, it was something they learned during their Academy days.

"I don't know for sure, but one of the other squads can help though. Squad Twelve is more or less the Research team. Their captain should be able to help you out."

Though the more Ayane thought about how all the Shinigami were disappearing, it made her think of a story that she was told once by her mother. One of their Aunties used to go by a different name before coming to her senses. Nah, that couldn't do anything with it, but just in case..

"Well, it does sound familiar, but I'm not sure why. Why don't you just call Mama yourself and ask her? Better than running around searching for something we don't know."
