It was early early morning and today just happened to be a day she was looking forward to! Not for herself, but today was the birthday of her most favorite Auntie ever. If you hadn't already guessed, her favorite Auntie was Yuri. She knew good and well that she wasn't really her Auntie but they've always called her Auntie Yuri because she's been around since before all of her sisters were born even the oldest Shizune. She remembers the day well where her auntie promised her juice in her youth and actually gave it to her. Since that day, Shiori declared Yuri her favorite Auntie and would go above and beyond for her and protect her at all costs. She would do anything for Yuri without thinking twice about it! Today meant a lot to Shiori because it was the day her Auntie came into existence and she was grateful. Even though she couldn't stand Yuri's father for making her cry so many years ago. It didn't matter today was that day, her Auntie's special day! She had this awesome present made for her Auntie and she was going to deliver it to her since she refused to take the day off. How could she stand to work when all of her children and nieces wanted to make the day special for her and she chose to work!
It didn't matter either way, after crawling out of bed, she handled her morning duties and grabbed the present the present she wrapped for her Auntie and dressed herself. Shiori made sure to greet and say goodbye to Yuriko who was like her little shadow before leaving the room they shared. She was sure to greet her mother and her father especially. She waved as she headed out the front door and began her walk toward the Sereitei. It would take her a little while before reaching the sereitei. The best part about leaving in the first Rukongai district is that they lived quite close to the Sereitei so her Aunties Yuri and Shukumei and her sisters Shizune and Ami could always get to work quickly.
After the short walk to the front gate, she was cleared to enter and thus she began her long...long walk to her Auntie's headquarters so that she could deliver the gift. Word spread quickly of the head noble of Kusanagi clan arriving. It drew all kinds of attention from passing Shinigami. Even her eldest sister came to greet her. Upon seeing her big sister she smile and waved and headed in her direction.
"Do I really draw that much attention? I know I'm pretty and everything but sheesh! I haven't been here for ten minutes yet!"
Shizune giggled at her younger sister's comment. What she didn't know based on the last few times that she was here was that the Shinigami came up with a nickname for her. She was scary and fierce that she earned the nickname of The Reaper because nearly everyone who crossed paths with her on the battlefield feared for their lives. The last time she came to visit her Auntie Yuri, her squad at the time attempted to deny he entry and she tore through them like they were paper and that was only just to give Yuri a hug and tell her hi. Now that she was intent on delivering the present for her birthday, she was on a mission and if the squad that her Auntie was the captain of got in her way, she'd just have to beat them all up again. She was a doctor now so after delivering the present, she'd help with addressing the injured. That was her job after all.
After reaching the gates to Squad Nine headquarters, she waved goodbye to Shizune who couldn't hide the fact that she was escorting her to keep her out of trouble, she walked toward the guards that were guarding the gates. As she approached, she was told to halt. Upon doing so the guards approached Shiori in return. They demanded to know about her business and upon telling them, instead of letting her through to see her Auntie, she was told that the Captain requested not to be disturbed.
"I am sorry Lady Shiori, but at the request of our Captain, she's told us that she would not like to see visitors on this day. If you would allow me to, I would be honored to transfer your gift to her myself."
Shiori tilted her head to the side and stared at the man who told her the ridiculous news. Her Auntie requested that she not be disturbed and went so far as to put guards at the gates. Obviously she knew it was her birthday but to believe for an instant that this would keep her out was actually kind of cute, not to mention silly. That request couldn't be for her family right? The guard did address her accordingly so it had to include family. It didn't matter, her Auntie was going to get this present and that's all that mattered!
"Oh? Is that what Auntie Yuri said did she?"
Shiori began to smirk...quite evil like in fact. After pushing past the guard Shiori looked at the gate before ramming her foot into it, knocking both doors off of its hinges and she continued to walk past the mess she made and was stopped as a group of Shinigami rushed to the site of what was left the gate and saw her standing there holding the wrapped present. One of the Shinigami recognized exactly who the white haired destroyer was.
"Eh...holy crap! It's..it's Shiori...The Reaper!!"
Shiori twirled a strand of her hair around her finger as she listened to the man as he addressed her as Shiori The Reaper...why has no one told her that's what people called her. It honestly sounded cool but that wasn't what she wanted to be called at all. It was so dark, and evil sounding and she was the furthest thing from evil at least now. She walked forward and pushed past the other guards and kept walking.
"What a stupid name, Shiori The Reaper. If you think I'm evil, wait until I tell my Auntie and Daddy what you called me. You don't know what a reaper is until you piss him off. Now where is my Auntie Yuri hiding?"
Before she could continue on she was cut off by several guards. These guys were super serious, unlike her sister Ami's squad, those slackers were pitiful. These guys were loyal and obidient. Even if it was going to get them hurt for attempting to keep her from her favorite Auntie.
"Lady Shiori, please return to your home, Captain Nakayama does not want visitors today, if you won't comply, we will stop you by force!"
Shiori began to smirk wickedly before raising her head slightly she glared at the one who spoke to her in such a manner. How dare he speak to her in such a demanding mannor. If she called her daddy he'd be angry, but why should she be a tattle tale. She was more than enough to handle these weaklings.
"By force? Hmm...okay then!"
With a smirk she stopped concealing her Reiatsu. The ground trembled slightly as she began to glow with an aura. She began to giggle before it turnd into outright laughter. She was excited. She'd get to play once again and it had been so long since the last time she got to play with others. Fifteen minutes or so later Shiori arrived at her Auntie's office she raised her left foot and kicked her office doors off the hinges, much like she did the gate earlier. Yuri who was sitting at her desk working diligently slowly turned and saw Shiori standing there breathing heavily and holding a present in both of her arms.
Her pretty robe was ripped and cut and her cheek was a tad bruised. Yuri sighed and stood up and approached her niece. Honestly, she could have waited to give it to her, she was going to come home for lunch after all.
"Shiori, you couldn't wait until I got home to give me this present. Not to mention you destroyed my gate and my office door again. If you keep this up, they won't let you back inside of here!"
Shiori handed her present over to her Auntie Yuri and turned away from her and sighed. She did have a point but it wasn't her fault that everything was easy to break...including members of her squad. Some of the men even screamed like girls which in all honesty she found quite hilarious.
"I don't care about a gate or a door...I'l pay for these, perhaps we can get you some stronger ones that I won't be able to...well who the heck am I kidding. No gate or Door will ever be strong enough to keep me away from you Auntie Yuri! Shame on you for even believing that I'd listen to a silly request to not see visitors! You practically begged to lose the door and the gate!"
Shiori smiled before wrapping her arms around her most favorite Auntie ever. She hoped she enjoyed the gift too. If she didn't she would just have to stare at her Kusanagi death stare style until she did!
"Happy Birthday Auntie Yuri, I love you!!"
She released her Auntie from her hug and turned away and waved and began her long walk home.
