Having left home a little earlier than usual, Shiori wanted to take a few more patients in before the day was done and her younger sister Yuriko wanted to help her just as she always has. In the past ten years, Shiori has gone from being a mouthy, playful girl who spoke about herself in third person to being a more mature, calm young lady. She was also a doctor of sorts now and co-owns a clinic with her sister-in-law Megumi whom she still refers to as Emi-mi. It was weird at first because of how close both of their families are they, the children referred to themselves as cousins even though they weren't related at all. Now that her older sister Ami and Emi-mi were married, she was now essentially her big sister through marriage which she felt was pretty cool too. She's always been quite fond of Megumi and even more so of Megumi's mother Yuri. Yuri aside from her father and sister's Yuriko and Asuna; and Hinata! Yuri was her most favorite person ever. She is ridiculously protective of her Auntie to the point where she'll ignore her own safety just to keep her safe. She's been known to be a tad bit impatient. On several occasions, she's gone to visit her Auntie Yuri at work and hurt people in the process!
Since it was decided that she couldn't serve in the Gotei Thirteen like her father, mother and older sister's, she was pronounced the successor to her Auntie Hinako and would lead the Kusanagi Clan and from the age of seventeen she has done so. Since she couldn't lay around all day and sleep, she wanted to do something that would make her parents proud and thus with Megumi the two opened a clinic in the second District of the North Rukongai. It was rewarding work, she got to help people and make them smile! It was also completely contrary to how she use to be where she would make people cry and hurt feelings! The best part of all was that Yuriko would come to work with her and help her and even look at patients to help out! They've always been close and this just makes them even more close as they get to spend a lot of time together. Shiori also begged Hinata, who was born a few months after she was to come and work at the Clinic but Hinata is super shy. So much so that she doesn't believe she could handle it. It's also Hina's shyness that draws her to be extremely overprotective over her. More so than her Auntie Yuri and her Father combined!
As the two sister's walked, Shiori glanced down at Yuriko who was humming and walking with a huge smile on her face. Shiori placed her hand on her sister's head and smiled right along with her. Yuriko reminded Shiori so much of Emi-mi it was ridiculous. She loved reading and was very smart and proficient with Healing Kido, even though she's only thirteen! She was progressing quite well and becoming better and better each day. Perhaps one day Yuriko could join Megumi and Shiori and work at the clinic as well! She should, she's already there enough as is. Shiori was even thinking of getting Yuriko her own office!
After reaching the clinic, Shiori unlocked the door and went inside and put on her scrubs and white robe. Since Yuriko enjoyed helping so much Shiori got her own little version for her birthday this past year! The assistant she hired, was totally waiting on them too. She was very kind and helpful to all the visitors to the clinic, she answered to the name of . Upon greeting the sister's Onigata, Shiori turned and faced each other. Shiori got down on one knee and gave her sister a big huge hug.
"Alright Yuriko, lets help as many people as we can today! Okay?"
Yuriko nodded and held up the ever classic Kusanagi peace sign. Shiori did it as well while giggling. She stood up and now the sisters were totally determined to help all the people they could. From young to super old, the visitors piled in! One by one they were handling them, some were rather peculiar in which case, both sisters would ask the other for help with a diagnosis. Naturally Yuriko didn't know everything and neither did Shiori but they did their best to assess every situation properly. While they could only handle minor cases, most of them were quite simple. Bandage changes, even a burn victim! It was such an exciting day for sure.
Yuriko even had a young child who had hurt his arm truly bad. Shiori watched as her younger sister performed a mobility and range test just to see how bad the young one's arm was hurting. He was clearly upset! She didn't like it that he seemed so upset but she did all she could for him by directing him to take it easy and to ice it as much as he could. She couldn't see or see with her Kisagara if anything was out of place so she did the only thing she could for the moment and created a home made sling for the young one to rest his arm in.
"Now be careful okay? If the sling becomes uncomfortable, have your mother loosen it until you're comfortable again. I want you to come back and see me in a few days and we'll see how you're doing then!"
The young boy sniffled and nodded. She looked at Shiori who smirked and pointed at her cheek. Yuriko giggled and the two sister's leaned in and gave the boy a kiss on the cheek each and his face lit up like a bright bulb! He was smiling and everything! Yuriko escorted the boy and his mother to the door and waved them off! Before she could close the door well it was grabbed and pulled open, causing her to release it and stumble back as a man dressed in a weird robe entered and an even larger individual entered the clinic. Yuriko had to tilt her head all the way back to stare at the larger individual. Their head was covered by a hood. Yuriko stepped back.
"Shiori glanced at the duo and stood beside her sister and placed her hands on her shoulder. She glanced at the two one seemed okay. The other one, the tall one specifically she couldn't see anything at all. Her Kisagara saw no sort of spiritual signature either. It was as if nothing was there at all.
"This is the a clinic...and owned and operated by an Onigata no less. Quite interesting wouldn't you say?"
The larger individual didn't respond at all and just stood there. Shiori moved Yuriko behind her to protect her. Shiori glanced around at the other individuals who were in the clinic to be helped. This wasn't going to end well at all. These two had a malicious air about them. The smaller man began to walk around to get a good look at everything he approached the desk of Shiori's assistant of sorts and he knocked papers off of the desk causing the woman to stand up. Shiori approached the smaller gentlemen and glared him down.
"That's enough, if you need to be helped I'll be more than happy to help you, but if you've come to cause trouble...then I must ask you to leave!"
The smaller man looked directly into Shiori's eyes and laughed. Shiori narrowed her eyes as the famed death stare wasn't affecting him the slightest. He chuckled and gave Shiori the only answer he needed to. In response as to why it wasn't working on him as it should "The famed Death stare...Azumina Kusanagi used it on me once herself so many years ago." Shiori's eyes widened upon hearing her mother's name. Just exactly who was this man and how exactly did he know of her mother?
Shiori turned to Yuriko and to the rest of the patients that were waiting and watching this event unfold. If something were to happen to the people and her sister, she could never forgive herself.
"The Clinic is closed for the day!"
The patients here were waiting quickly left the scene as quickly as they could. She glanced at Yuriko and tilted her head toward the door quickly to tell her to leave as well. As she nodded and attempted to do so the larger individual reached for Yuriko but Shiori quickly grabbed their wrist to stop him. Yuriko ran as fast as she could and headed home to where she could get her father or sister's to help or something! With ridiculous strength the large individual drew back his arm while Shiori was still holding on to it and threw her into the wall which she cracked with the amount of force she hit the wall with and before she could hit the ground, the larger individual wrapped their hand around Shiori's face and kept her pinned there.
"Kill her, like all Onigata and Kusanagi, they must be destroyed for what they did to me and who better to do it than you my large friend. One who knows the family lines quite well. You shall be the tool of my vengeance!"
Shiori slowly raised both of her hands up and placed them in front of the larger individual's face and formed a giant red ball and released it at point blank range, forcing the individual to drop her. Once the smoke cleared the hood had been destroyed and left the individuals face exposed. It was a woman! After gathering her bearings Shiori stood up and she was breathing heavily. The large woman looked to Shiori. Shiori took note of her eyes... and her eyes widened. It was revealed that the large woman had Kisagara just like she and a majority of her sisters had. Shiori raised her hand to her face and was going to hollowfy but before she could the large woman rushed forward and hit Shiori with so much force that she crashed through a wall in her clinic and was thrown outside. Shiori grunted as she struggled to push herself to her feet.
"I...know who...who you..."
The smaller man stepped through the hole in the wall that was created and laughed, cutting Shiori off."So you've figured it out? To bad you will be unable to warn your family" With a slight nod, the larger individual vanished from sight and appeared in front of Shiori with a flash step. She wrapped her hand around Shiori's face and slammed her face directly into the ground. It was then, Shiori lost consciousness. A crowd had gather and the leader of the two noticed.
"Come, we're finished here, you will have a chance to finish her later!"
The smaller man vanished from sight while the larger one remained behind Only for a moment. There was tears falling from the woman's face before she vanished, following the smaller man and leaving Shiori there unconscious.
