Hina was in the world of the Living, doing some window shopping with her younger brother. She was thinking about buying some presents for her family. There wasn't any special reason. She just wanted to do something nice for them. Sure, she couldn't get anything for her brother, but that was okay. She can always window shop. Speaking of which, she stopped in front of a store window selling various clothing. When Ryou noticed, he gave a small sigh.
"Really, sis? You just had to stop here, huh?"
This made Hina's face turn a light shade of pink. Why wouldn't she? What was wrong with looking at clothes?
"Human clothes are rather fascinating to me. They're either vibrant or void of any color. They come in different kinds of ways. It's interesting."
By now, it was high noon and probably time for them to head home. The siblings made their way to the forest, although Hina was falling behind. She was constantly looking behind her. She just couldn't shake the feeling something wasn't right. When Ryou saw Hina wasn't close, he turned around to head to her.
"What's wrong, Hina?"
She would look around again, seeming very nervous and somewhat on edge. Maybe it was nothing and she was being paranoid. She would eventually calm down long enough to turn her attention to her brother.
"For a moment, I thought we were being followed. It's... I don't know."
If there was anything Ryou knew about his sister was the fact that her intuition was usually never wrong. If she's saying they're being followed, they probably were. The main questions were who and why? Before he could even think to ask the question out loud, he soon saw ina be struck in the back. With a cry of pain, Hina forced herself to turn around, drawing her Zanpakuto. Right now, her main task was getting her brother to safety since he had no way of protecting himself. Soon, three individuals appeared in front of them.
'I suppose we should expect nothing less from the likes of the child of a Shinigami captain. You have two options: Surrender of your own free will or be forced to.""
Hina's stance would give them the answer that they needed. She stood between the would-be instigators and her brother. Without looking to him, Hina would tell him to open a gate so they could leave. While he tried to do so, all three individuals lept in to stop him. Hina did her best to distract them. Once she managed to put some distance between herself and them, the gate finally opened. Hina felt her had being grabbed by Ryou, pulling her towards the gate. However, once they got close, she noticed one of the enemy was on a trajectery to her brother to cuthom off.
"Ryou... Find Mom and Dad...Anyone who can help. I'm counting on you."
Just when he was about to object, Hina pushed him into the gate. The last thing he got to see was her giving him a smile before the gate closed. With no other option, he ran as fast as he could to head back home. Once back in Seireitei, he finally made it to hs mother's barracks. Once there and getting the chance to explain everything to Yuri, her expression changed. She would instruct Ryou to stay at the barracks while she left with a shunpo. On the way from a newly formed gate, she made calls to Tohru, Ryouji, and Shukumei. Probably overkill, but that didn't matter to the captain.
Once on the scene, she arrived to see one of the attackers holding an unconscious Hina in his arms. Seeing what must be done, the captain would steel herself for a fight. The second attacker would battle with Yuri, only to fuel her already increasing anger.
"If you're so eager on dying by standing in my way, so be it!"
Her hands began to crackle with black reishi as she soon began to chant a familiar incantion. She had every intention of using Kurohitsugi at its full compacity regardless of what consequences that may cause. The only thing that stopped her was feeling someone grab onto her hand, pulling her backwards, with another wrapping around her chest to hold her back. Yuri knew exactly who it was.
"Let me go, Tohru!"
He knew stopping Yuri would cause them to get away, but if she were to used that Kido, She could have accidentally engulfed Hina in the attack. Not to mention using a kido of that calibur unrestricted in the living world would cause enough issues to keep her from being able to do anything in the future. All Yuri could do was watch them all flee with her daughter. Tohru could only console her while they waited for the others to show up.
